Montana Blue

Montana Cans is one of the defining brands of the international graffiti and urban art scene. For the launch of the new BLUE—a water-based, solvent-free spray can—we developed a content campaign that showcases the product in an authentic, versatile way that truly captures the spirit of the scene.

Details

For Montana Cans, we supported the launch of the new BLUE in both content and production—from concept development and filming to social-first assets for the rollout. The result was two main films: a Versatility Video showcasing the product’s range in various application contexts with models such as Grumbowski and Uptown Danny, as well as a how-to tutorial featuring artist Danika Arndt as both the artist and the face of the production.

Based on these two formats, we developed over ten additional reel cuts for social media that could be released immediately upon launch. In addition, we created merchandise distributed to selected artists to help them promote the product within their own networks—credibly, strategically, and without any artificially inflated campaign posturing.

Especially in the SME sector, good content creation isn’t about how loud it is, but how precisely it hits the mark. When a product like the new BLUE hits the market, it doesn’t need artificially exaggerated staging—but rather a visual language that shows what the product can really do, and a production that stays close enough to the scene to be taken seriously.

That’s exactly how we structured the launch: on equal footing, within a real network, and with a setup that doesn’t try to cosplay a subculture. Instead, the content showcases the product’s versatility where it matters most—at the Hall of Fame, in the studio, and in sculptural work.

The result is a campaign that not only looks good but also serves as a pretty good example for mid-sized brands of how modern content creation can work today: clearly conceived, cleanly produced, and credible down to the very last asset.

At the heart of the launch are two main videos: a “Versatility Edit” showcasing the BLUE’s various applications and a “How-to” tutorial featuring Danika Arndt. Together, they showcase not only the product but also the campaign’s tone: practical, visually striking, and without unnecessarily emphasizing subculture.

To complement this, merchandise is being created and distributed specifically to selected artists, who test the product and organically feature it on their channels. It’s not a loud promotional stunt, but rather a smart seeding approach with genuine ties to the scene.

Modern content creation doesn’t mean pretending to be bigger than you are – it means being closer to the product, the scene, and reality.

Over ten additional reel formats were developed from the main productions, designed specifically for social media. This transforms a strong core production into a flexible content system that builds reach without becoming arbitrary.
